Reviews

Disappointed

"The Biota Clear system is confusing—the website was confusing to find the information of what to use and when. When I finally found the information, it wasn’t clear—there is way too much going on on the webpage and you have to scroll down to get a somewhat clear idea of the steps. I appreciated the study and the YouTube video about the study; those were helpful. I finally determined that this system is what I needed based on my symptoms. But once I got it, I realized the label says “Step 3”. What are steps 1 & 2? If there are steps 1&2, why isn’t that stated anywhere on the page with a link to steps 1&2? I decided to use it anyway based on the product and symptoms description— starting with the Biota Dissolve, the 1a & 1b as directed. After 3 days everything got worse and unbearable. I had to stop taking the meds, as it was affecting everything from sleep, to being at work, my daily activities, etc. I couldn’t function. I got terrible watery stool immediately after eating, and intense inflammation. I’m disappointed as I had high hopes, and it’s not a cheap product line. But at least I know now. I even tried the Elemental Heal I have to see if maybe I just needed to consume gentle nutrition while on this product, but that even caused stomach upset. I am not sure what to do next. When I res he’d put to the help team pop-up on the website, they said they don’t help with this kind of information, that I should email customer service. I will do that next."

Q&A

Will this help with ulcerative colitis?
This could be part of a gut healing protocol, yes! For treatment options: https://drruscio.com/colitis-treatment/
Dear Dr. Ruscio, In your book it says we need two bottle of the Biota-Celar 1b and if we have left over, take it into month two...but if i take 3 pills morning and 3 pills at night, i will be out of pills in 20 days if i have two bottles...do I need three bottles or is two the right number of bottles and 20 days on Biota Clear 1a? Thank you
The dose for 1b is 2 pills twice a day, so 2 bottles should give you enough for the month.
Is this product safe to take while breastfeeding—i.e., not while pregnant—a 3.5 year old? Are there any “kill phase” products that can be safely taken while breastfeeding?
Our antimicrobials should be avoided while breastfeeding. Dr. Ruscio discusses which products should be avoided while breastfeeding during his protocol here: https://drruscio.com/great-in-8-faq-step1/
Is this safe to take while breastfeeding?
We do not recommend using this product while pregnant

It’s used by individuals looking for botanical support in a variety of contexts, including general gut microbial imbalances. It is also included in Dr. Ruscio’s Mold & Fungus Protocol, where it’s used as part of a broader, structured approach. Individual use varies based on goals and needs.

Biota-Clear 1a can be used:

  • On its own for general microbial support

  • As part of a targeted protocol

Should I start with antimicrobials?

Antimicrobials are typically introduced after foundational gut health steps like diet, probiotics, sleep, and stress support.

How long is a typical protocol?

Protocols often last 1–2 months, with rotation between formulas. Individual needs vary.

Why rotate Biota-Clear products?

Rotation helps prevent stagnation and supports broader microbial balance. [3].

Are die-off reactions possible?
